Stylish and Simple Fashion from Sweet Pea
Sweetpea Fashion is a relatively new online boutique specialising in baby and children’s wear suitable for children ages 0-6 years. Sweetpea Fashion was setup by Louise Atkinson, a Mum who had prior experience in dressing children only to find that clothing often lost it’s shape or shade and lacked style. Louise setup Sweetpea Fashion with the aim to provide parents with a store which offered stylish, affordable, long lasting children’s clothing which use quality fabrics and are suitable from the playgrounds to parties.
Sweetpea Fashion is an online based store which enables parents to access shopping easily and to gain a wider range of clothing than on the high street. Sweetpea Fashion specifically specialise in designer clothes for children from suppliers including Aya Naya, Bebe by Minihaha, The Black Rabbit, Fox & Finch, Helen Gordan, Tappa Nakki, Toffee Moon, Week-end a la Mer, Kiko, 88’, Lile Barn, Beau Loves, Chimen and Fill & Teil to name a few..
Mums Baby Magazine were sent two examples of clothing for either gender from the ‘Week-end a la Mer’ collection. The clothing arrived in a beautiful Sweetpea cotton bag, ideal for reusing with children for sports bags or simply as toy bags.
The ‘Week-end a la Mer’ clothing was bright, colourful and high quality fabric. However, upon trying the clothing on with two toddlers of average size (one female aged two years and one male aged three years) we were disappointed to find that the clothing seemed to be a tight fit for both of the children. We would therefore recommend to parents wishing to buy clothing from the ‘Week-end a la Mer’ collection (a French based label) to measure their children and perhaps chose a slightly larger size. However, Sweetpea Fashion provide a detailed size guideline document upon their website which can aid parents when ordering items.
Our toddler testers seemed to like the clothing, the fabrics used felt soft and the designs certainly seemed stylish. The two tee-shirts and two pairs of trousers (featured top right) were light, soft and ideal for fitting into in a bag should your child require changing.
Having worn the tee-shirts and trousers during a rather chaotic day, one of our toddler testers managed to end up literally covered in strawberry juice… We washed the clothing at forty degrees with a non biological washing powder and found the results to be pleasing. The clothes were still bright, felt soft and had not lost any of their quality.
Compared to high street prices, Sweetpea Fashions prices seem affordable and fair, Sweetpea Fashion are also offering customer free returns and free UK delivery on orders over £50!
Overall we were fairly impressed with the ‘Week-end a La Mer’ collection and were highly impressed with the service offered by Sweetpea Fashions, we therefore would like to give Sweet Pea Fashion 8/10 for being easy, affordable and stylish.

Teething Treasures from Gumigem
Girls need a bit of ‘glam’ and there is no reason why that should stop when you become a Mum. Whilst we all know that babies are like little magpies for jewellery, there is a way to wear jewellery safely whilst in the presence of children.
Babies seem to enjoy pulling, tugging and chewing upon anything within their reach. Thus you don’t see many Mums wearing dangly earrings or long necklaces… However, Gumigem have produced a wide range of jewellery specifically designed to be ‘safe’ for both Mum and Baby. Gumigem’s glitzy and glamorous jewellery is made from non-toxic, soft, flexible silicone (like most baby teething toys) and is therefore ideal for Mum to wear and for baby to chew upon.
As previously mentioned babies enjoy pulling and tugging, whilst babies may be very small in size their grip is extremely strong. Gumigem’s jewellery range features a ‘break-away’ clip which will open when tugged strongly (thus preventing the jewellery becoming a choking hazard for Mums with babies who enjoy pulling and tugging). Once the clasp is open it is possible to adjust the length of the necklace as the cord can be cut and re knotted to suit the required length.
Gumigem’s jewellery range can be sterilised in either a dish washer or steriliser (so long as the cord is removed). The Gumigem necklace range is ideal for occupying little hands and pacifying teething tots.
Mums Baby Magazine put the new ‘Gumigem’ Raindrop range to the test. We were really taken with the textured, glitter effect and were surprised by how unlike silicone/ rubber the necklace appears to be. Unless physically handled it is almost impossible to tell from its visual appearance that the pendant is silicone/ rubber based.
Gumigem sell a wide range of jewellery differing in design, shape and colour. Gumigem jewellery is fairly priced, retailing at £12.50 per necklace or alternatively customers can purchase a range of colours and designs to accompany alternative outfits from £22.50 upwards.
Mums Baby Magazine give the All New ‘Gumigem’ Jewellery range ten out of ten for Mum and Baby! We would like to make it clear that Gumigem jewellery should be worn by parents and children should never be left unattended with the jewellery for safety reasons.
