Get the perfect picture without the fuss!
![]()
Every moment is precious and we know how important it can be to record your little ones progress in a picture format. It can be a lengthy task trying to snap the ideal image as capturing your little ones attention can often be difficult, thus many photographers find they have to take realms of photos in order to get that perfect picture…
iBaby Photo Pro is specifically designed as an aid for parents and relatives to get brilliant baby photos in a click. iBabyPhoto Pro has specifically created a range of sounds to attract the attention of your little one in order to distract their attention whilst a photo is being taken.
Simply select a sound you think that your little one will enjoy and then iBaby Photo Pro will launch the camera software for your phone automatically, as this process is being carried out the sounds will begin to play to entertain the mini model.
iBaby Pro is available for IPhone users, whilst the more basic package ‘iBaby Photo’ is free, the ‘iBaby Photo Pro’ software costs only 99p and includes more sounds, an improved interface and adverts are removed from the software.
Mums Baby Magazine give the iBaby Photo Pro Application 8/10.
Track Baby Basics with ‘Baby Tracker’ for the IPhone
Baby Tracker for the IPhone is an app specifically designed for parents to keep a record of the basic requirements and routines of their baby. Designed by Kevin Mitchell, Baby Tracker can be used to record data upon not just one but multiple children. Baby Tracker keeps an electronic record of:
- Information and times upon your children’s feeds
- Information and times upon your children’s bathroom/ toilet events.
- Information and times upon your children’s sleep schedules.
It is also possible to select a single photo of your child to assign to individual profiles, create graphs which summarise the data entered and finally, users can add their own events to record. However, they can only record text as it is not possible to select a measurement to record (such as on-going growth charts).
Although the Baby Tracker app is a useful tool to use in order to record general information upon your child, it lacks colour and pictures. The user is unable to customise the background or fonts and overall this app feels dull and unappealing to the eye.
Upon loading this app, the user is asked to select/ enter a child. In order to do so the parent must enter all aspects of the information required including the length of their child. In the UK (and many other countries) it isn’t a requirement to measure length upon birth and therefore many parents are unable to enter the correct data. Sadly this app will not work without a length being entered and therefore the user is forced to estimate a general length of their child. To input the length the user must roll a dial (using their fingers) to select the correct numbers. However, this particular screen is rather confusing as there are endless columns making the app appear to over complex.
Some of the titles used in this app lack thought, for example when entering data upon your child’s toilet events the user is to press a button labelled ‘Pee/Poo’.
One positive aspect of this app is that it offers the user the ability to email the data to themselves in a table format, therefore facilitating backups of data.
Mums Baby Magazine would like to suggest that this app could be improved by:
- Changing the icon
- Adding a customisation feature (for background colours and fonts)
- Adding icons/ images
- Altering many of the titles.
- Add a measurement option to the ‘add event’ feature
- Enable sharing data through Facebook and twitter so that users are able to share their babies development with friends and family.
- Add an option to record photos and milestones (currently users can only set one image as a profile image)
- Include useful information for parents relating to each stage.
- Add icons to the graph to make it easier to read quickly (for example use a bar line of nappies for changes/ toilet events or a bar line of bottles for feeding records).
- Alter the navigation so that it goes straight to a menu upon loading.
- Offer users the ability to skip data entry for all aspects.
Overall Mums Baby Magazine give the Baby Tracker App 3/10. Available from the App Store for £1.19, the Baby Tracker App (version 3.1) is a useful tool to help parents to recognise and track their children’s routines. You can find more information upon this app at www.umzing.com.
Getting stuck in a rut? No ideas for playtime? Bright and Beyond Apps to the Rescue!
Children require consistent entertainment which is potentially educational whilst being fun thus stimulating and of interest. Thinking up a wide range of activities for little ones can be difficult when you are trying to battle through the everyday routine. Quite often parents find that the same toys are played with over and over again until little ones become bored and fed up with the same monotonous repetition of activities.
Trying to be creative and think of new things is difficult when put on the spot, Bright and Beyond have created several apps for the IPhone which are suited to four particular age ranges (Baby, Age 1, Age 2 and Preschool).
Each app features a wide range of flash cards of quick to setup activities for your little ones. The activities selected require parental supervision and participation, being part of your little ones play is essential, you after all are their role model thus taking part yourself will help provide your little one with an example of ‘how to’ from their favourite teacher, their parent.
Available from the App Store starting at £0.59 the Bright and Beyond apps are full of fun ideas for children and parents.
