Get Smart, get a Fisher-Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing.

There are a great variety of swings available on the market these days. Most of them cater for newborns to around four-five months when baby outgrows the swing. The Fisher Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing can be used right up until your child is 40lb in weight! Therefore you are really getting your moneys worth out of this product.

Often swings can be fiddly to get babies into with overhead canopies or bars which babies need to be guided under before being put into the seat. The Fisher Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing is open-topped so that baby can easily be put into the seat without the worry of catching their delicate heads on any overhead obstacles.

Although the Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing appears to be large when put together, it can fold away for storage and is easy to pack away.

The Seat itself converts into a rocking seat for your baby/ toddler to use and even better, a bar from underneath the seat can be clicked out so that the seat becomes a feeding chair/ stationary seat in which to put your child when sleeping or relaxing.

The seat is easily removed from the swing frame and is of a good size to pop in the car if you are going out for the day for your child to use when out and about. The material can be unattached and washed at 40 degrees. The 3-in-1 Smart Stages Rocker Swing also comes with a toy bar featuring two soft toys which can be attached to the seat for your child’s entertainment whilst in/ out of the swing.

The Fisher Price Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing features a range of Music which can be played at two volume settings (high/low). The Music can also be switched off for ‘silent swinging’.

IMG_2440 The Fisher Price 3-in-1 Smart Stages Rocker Swing requires 4 ‘D’ sized Batteries (usually sold separately). There are a few colours which you can purchase the swing in. However, the main colour sold by most stores is navy blue and green.

The Fisher Price 3-in-1 Smart Stages Rocker Swing is available from www.preciouslittleone.com for the bargain price of £88.95 (the swing usually retails at £99.99!).

After having tried and tested the Fisher Price 3-in-1 Smart Stages Rocker Swing MBM has found this to be THE BEST swing on the market as it is durable, long lasting, worth its money, multifunctional and finally six month old Joshua loves being in the swing or rocking seat and whatever makes baby happy makes MBM happy!

Its not just black and white: Merry day Cow from JellyCat Toys

Research suggests that babies are more able to view black and white toys.

“Large black and white patterns present the highest possible contrast (100%) to the eye and thus are the most visible and attractive to babies” (http://www.ski.org/Vision/babyvision.html)

Why not buy your baby a visually stimulating toy which is soft to the touch such as the JellyCat Merryday Cow. Josh (my two and half month old son) will not leave the house without his ‘Moo’ and we have come to realise that he is far more able to focus upon this toy than any other. He also enjoys to feel the texture of the toy itself. Available from www.justjellycat.co.uk the Merry Day Cow retails at £14.50 and is the perfect gift for any baby/ child.

DO NOT LEAVE ANY BABY UNATTENDED WITH THIS PRODUCT DUE TO CHOKING /SMOTHERING HAZARD!

Mamas and Papas Starlite Swing

The Mamas and Papas Starlite swing features a range of Music, a jack to insert your own MP3 player into as well as a storage box for your MP3 player/ IPOD, five differing swing speeds, a starlit canopy (using LED multicoloured lights) and a soft handle bar with three detachable toys for baby to play with. The swing can be put into a stationary position using a pull out clip from underneath the swing itself and for safety a five point, adjustable harness is fitted into the seat. All covers are machine washable and the swing itself is easy to wipe down.

Babies are said to love lights as they are bright and attract their attention, the LED lights (stars) can be set to act like a shooting star shower or twinkling stars. We have found this to be the perfect swing for Josh, although it can be slightly difficult to get him into as having to bend down with the weight of baby and angle the baby correctly to get him into the swing without catching his head on the star lit canopy can be awkward. However, the canopy is detachable although I would hate to reattach it and drop the canopy onto baby whilst they were in the swing. Thus why I tend not to leave the canopy in tact whilst putting baby into the swing itself.

One other useful feature of this swing is the timer function, which can be set to swing to rock for five, ten or fifteen minute periods which is perfect for getting the jobs done quickly whilst baby continues to rock for a set amount of time. The Music can be adjusted in volume as it can become repetitive after time, although our baby seems to love it!
This swing is perfect for newborns up to around six months, although I think it may become cramped after around four months for baby. The swing can be folded away easily and features three different seat heights according to the age and needs of the baby.

The Star lite swing retails at around £99.00 from . However, if you wish to buy the neutral coloured version (which is sold at £89.99 on the website) you can grab a bargain by getting down to your local where you will find this swing at £39.99! You may need to be patient as it is often out of stock due to the popularity and the bargain price. Otherwise you could try your luck on (where we grabbed a deal and got the swing for £30 including postage and packaging!).
