Rather than bathing your baby in their own bath tub, why not share a bath together. Be sure to prepare everything that you will need before and after the bath such as a warm towel, a nappy, clothing, massage oil etc.

MBM suggest putting a baby bouncer/ baby seat next to the bath to place your baby in whilst you get in and out so that they are safe if you slip. Ensure that you support your baby safely and securely when you are in the bath together so that they aren’t able to go under the water completely and so that they are comfortable.

Spending quality time together in the bath skin to skin can promote your relationship with your child as well as boost your child’s confidence your own as a parent.

Make bath time fun by singing with your child, letting them have bath toys, bobbing them up and down in the water, gently washing water over their body, making bubbles, splashing gently and letting your child kick their legs and move their arms.

Sharing a big bath together is far more fun, special and easier than using a baby bath.
