Week 27
Your Baby is about the size of a head of cauliflower!
Your baby will grow over half an inch this week and will be about one third of a foot long (from crown to toes) or is 9.6″ from crown to rump. Your babies brain continues to grow rapidly, their eyelids are beginning to open and close whilst the retinas begin to form.
Your uterus is now closer to your ribcage and you may experience shortness of breath.
You may be experiencing the following symptoms:
- Shortness of breath
- Braxton Hicks (occasional tightening of the uterus in preparation for labour)- Braxton Hicks are usually painless and are completely normal.
- More emotionally stable
- Bleeding from the gums when brushing your teeth this is due to soft gums.
- Back ache- try not to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. When sat try to elevate your knees above your hips.
- Pelvis Ache
- Shooting pains in the lower back and legs
- Ligament pain as you continue to stretch and grow.
- General stiffness due to growth.
- increased appetite and cravings
- headaches
- Dizzy/ Lightheaded/ Faint- See a Doctor if this persists and becomes a problem.
