Week 33
Your Baby is now about the weight of a pinapple!
Your baby is now about 17.2 inches long (43.7cm) from top to toe! The amniotic fluid is now at the highest level it has been throughout the pregnancy and will remain this way until the birth of your baby. Rapid brain growth has now increased your babies head size, fat continues to accumulate which now turns skin from red to pink. Your baby is probably now positioned ‘head down’ although may move again before birth.
You may be experiencing the following symptoms:
- Less movement sensations from your baby as they begin to drop lower into your pelvis and due to their increased size have less room for movement.
- Difficulty in getting comfortable when sleeping- try to sleep on your left side and perhaps purchase a maternity pillow for added comfort.
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue
- Braxton Hicks (occasional tightening of the uterus in preparation for labour)- Braxton Hicks are usually painless and are completely normal.
- Irritability
- Haemorrhoids
- Constipation
- Heart Burn- try sleeping in a recliner chair so that you are upright to alleviate this.
- Indigestion
- Back ache, abdomen ache, pelvic ache, hip ache and leg ache.
- Mild headaches (if you experience seeing flashing lights, seeing spots or increased swelling see a Doctor)
